Please share a memory of Mildred to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Mildred May was born April 10, 1923 to James and Bertha Hansen in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan. On June 3, 2013, Mildred passed away at the Long Term Care of Provost Health Centre at 90 years of age. Mildred was raised in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan. She graduated from 'Normal School' and quickly started teaching when she was just 16 years old. She married Wilfrid in 1954 and they lived and farmed west of Provost. She started teaching in Cadogan in 1964 and taught and was the principle until 1979. After her husband passed, she lived briefly in Camrose and Sherwood Park, until she moved to Red Deer where she made her home for many years. She enjoyed quilting, knitting, baking and of course Bingo and the casino. In 2002, she moved back to Provost to the Hillcrest Lodge where she made her home for almost eleven years. While there, she still loved to knit, do crossword puzzles, listen music and keep up with all the current news events. She loved all of her family and was very proud of all their accomplishments. Mildred will be lovingly remembered and forever missed by her children, Bob, Donna, Chester (Gloria), and June and their families; daughter-in-law, Carol; grandchildren Shannon (Paul) Gale, and Rob Farrish, granddaughter-in-law, Sarah; great-grandchildren, Law Gale, Hunter, Ryker, and Jaxi Farrish; brothers, Swede and Cliff; as well as numerous extended relatives and friends. Mildred was predeceased by her husband, Wilfrid; son-in-law, Tony; and brother, Herb.
