Obituary of Betty Manning

Please share a memory of Betty to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Beatrice “Betty” Anne Manning was born on July 24, 1948, in Vermilion Alberta to George “Donald” and Doris Stewart. She was the fifth of seven children in the family. She spent her childhood and school aged years growing up in the Lloydminster and Wainwright areas.

Betty met the love of her life, Rick Manning while working at the stockyards in Lloydminster and they were married on June 28, 1969. Together they were blessed with three sons, Lee in August of 1969, Jason in July of 1970 and Ryan in November of 1975.

Betty was a music lover and often had songs playing in the background, there were many family gatherings where a dance broke out in the kitchen. She was a lover of nature and enjoyed watching the birds and other wildlife around the countryside. She was a gardener and enjoyed making sure everything she grew was used in various canning and preserving projects. Betty enjoyed watching her children and grandchildren play various sports. Most of all she loved to sit around a campfire and visit with family and friends.

Betty was a deeply loved wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, auntie and friend. She will be sadly missed by many.

Betty is survived by her loving husband, Rick; sons, Lee (Kathryn); Jason (Jacqueline) and Ryan (Carmen); grandchildren, Dixon, Kelsey, Payton (Nick), Brendan, Ewan, Ryker, Jed, and Jayda; brothers, Larry (Starene) and Dennis, as well as many nieces and nephews.

A funeral service for Betty will take place on Wednesday, September 11, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at the Hardisty Community Hall with Gina Vetter officiating. A private family interment will take place at the Czar Cemetery.
